The Common Mistake: Highlight vs. Permanent Blackout
A dangerous mistake many users make is drawing a black highlighter or transparent marker over text in basic image viewers. In many viewers, someone opening the file can simply highlight the underlying text, copy it to their clipboard, or remove the visual layer. Configure Solid Black or Whiteout Fill
In the right properties panel, select Solid Black fill for classic redaction bars, or Solid White fill to seamlessly whiteout unnecessary lines.
Fit Over Sensitive Data & Export
Resize the box tightly over SSNs, account digits, or sensitive names, and click Export to download your sanitized PDF.
Can I use whiteout instead of black redaction bars?
Yes! Select the rectangle shape and choose pure white (#ffffff) for both border and fill. This creates an invisible whiteout patch that cleanly matches the white document background.
